Tradies if you have ever had trouble finding a lady, the annual Century Cranes Tradies and Ladies Race Day at the Cairns Jockey Club was the place to be. Some tradies and ladies travelled from as far as Melbourne to attend the highly anticipated event which also fell on St Patrick’s Day. I spent the day alongside 100 other guests in a marquee for local ladies networking group She Means Business who joined forces with local men’s networking group, Blokes and Business.

As with every race day, fashions are high on the agenda. Cairns local lady Alyce Rigby was a true standout wearing a full-length jumpsuit matched with pointed Witchery shoes. Her outfit inspired by the beautiful FNQ tropics with vibrant colours found in nature. Alyce shared why she loves Cairns races “Everyone just seems to embrace their true individuality. I am empowered by others who come out of their shell and dare to be bold.” Alyce may not have found herself a tradie that day but she said there certainly some talent on show. “I had a great day out with my girls, tradie or not!”
