The Pullman Reef Hotel Casino was packed to the brim for the Cairns Save the Date Wedding Expo which showcases the very best wedding services and suppliers FNQ has to offer. Now in it’s 9th year running, event organiser Joanne Male was ecstatic at the turn out ‘We had over 1200 people come through the doors, with lots of same sex couples. It was epic, the best to date.’ she said.
Attendees could expect everything wedding related including gowns, suits, cakes, photographers, nails and floral arrangements. Brides really were blushing when they made it to the vendor that displayed the latest gadgets you would expect to see on 50 Shade of Grey. I’m pretty sure we just found the honeymoon section.
I found a large group of men loitering around one section which turned out to be the free samples of donuts in front of a large ‘donut feature wall’ created by the Donut Joint, the latest ‘must have’ at any wedding in 2018.
Attendee James Brown shared the story of how he proposed to his fiancé Laurel Halbert “We were on top of the Hallorans Hill bridge in Atherton. Laurel was admiring the view, looking out to the mountains when I had dropped down to one knee. As she turned around she started laughing and crying” We can safely assume she said yes.
Brides and grooms were not the only ones to benefit from this popular event, $5 per person was donated to charity Project Booyah Cairns.
