Country racing at its finest, the Great Northern Hotel Bill Dawson Memorial Cup held at the Gordonvale Turf Club for their annual Cup Day. The blue skies made for a perfect backdrop against the 2000 racegoers bright spring colours. This popular event is not just for the fashionistas, “patrons included backpackers and farmers who treated themselves to a rare day off. Bill Anderson has attended this local race meet since he was 15 years of age. Bill told us what keeps him coming back “The beer is always cold and people are always nice.”
