What do Irelands Holden, CQU Taipans and The Row fashion show have in common?
They were my first ever events I attended as the newly appointed Cairns Eye Social Butterfly!
Saturday May 6th was jammed packed with two completely opposite back to back events. First up was hanging out at Ireland Holden on Mulgrave Rd for their Car Mania event with Cam Gliddon (Captain) and Nate Jawai from the CQU Taipans. The atmosphere was electric and the smell of sausages, bacon and eggs on the BBQ was the icing on the cake. Im rubbish at shooting hoops but turns out the boys from the dealership aren’t! I cannot speak highly enough of the team at Ireland Holden. Since I picked up my 2017 Holden Astra the service and attention to detail has been second to none. Ange Collins is an angel making sure the whole process went smoothly and the sales people there are so approachable. I strongly suggest if you are in the market for a new or used vehicle that you head down and see the team at Ireland Holden, you will not be disappointed.
PS, I LOVE the Holden Astra. Its fuel efficient, speedy, has Apple Play and excellent if your after a vehicle with that european feel. Honestly though, I’m most impressed with the boot space. After a full day of shopping (retail and grocery) and running from event to event, it has more than enough room to fit absolutely everything I need. It’s perfect for the on-the-go girly girl (The selfie lighting is also amazing). I have no idea what car I’m getting next but i’ll be sad to part from this little beauty.
Not long after I finished up there, I went home for a quick change and then shot up to QT in Port Douglas for The Row fashion show by Rose&Boy. Fashion, in every aspect, is one of my passions and this event was nothing short of fabulous! From the theming of the space, to the runway and the gorgeous midsummer nights dream-esque style anti past table the whole event was tied together with a live performance from Jordy Da Le Cruz and MC’d Jojo Carmody. Blessed are the Meek, The Fifth Label, Somedays Lovin are a few of my favourite brands so I was so exited to be in attendance. I’ve got my eye on a couple of pieces and now I have so many exciting events to wear them to so I’m very much looking forward to a trip up to Port Douglas for a look see. My friend Louise and I decided to stay the night at QT, which was a brilliant idea considering they threw in a complimentary breakfast, which for those playing along at home, just happens to be one of the best in FNQ (In my opinion anyway). We were lucky enough to score the very last room and the concierge was brilliant having the room prepared straight away. After that was organised we hit the after party which was just as glamorous as the show itself. Big thanks to Karlie and Emily from Rose&Boy for the amazing night. Beyond excited for the next one!
All in all, my first offical week on the job was a smashing success. There is still so many exciting things on the horizon, I really hope you are all enjoying following my journey so far!
